WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CORPORATION (WEC) is a charitable corporation registered under section 08, not for profit of Indian Companies Act 1956, Vide Registration No. U 93090GJ2007NPL050517/2007-08 and exempted under section 80G (5) of IT act 1961, Vide IT Reg. No: DIT (E)/12AA/902/07-08/ IT Exemption No: DIT (E)/ 80G (5)/672 /07-08 with social mission and conviction to empower unorganized and downtrodden women for economic, social, legal, political, and spiritual empowerment.
WEC works with women and their rights. Women empowerment means economic, social, legal, political, and spiritual empowerment. Empowering women means empowering India which leads to a happy, healthy, and prosperous society.
We started our grass root level activities through Sakhi Mandals (Self Help Group) dedicated to economic empowerment of women from the underprivileged section. Sakhi Sangh is a federation of Sakhi Mandal.
It is a community driven movement with emphasis on economic empowerment activities. Each Sakhi Sangh has a President, Vice President and Members who carry out various economic empowerment activities in each area of the ward.
Sakhi Maha Sangh (City Level Federation) works through various committees. Each committee has a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members who are responsible for specific activities. The members of various committees meet every month and review specific work of each committee especially in economic, social, legal, political and spiritual field. The member of each committee visits Urban Local Body, Government financial institutions, Banks, Collector offices etc. to solve their problems with close coordination and supervision of WEC. Women Empowerment Corporation is working as resource organization at national level to implement community driven model in the field of economic, social, legal, political and spiritual area.

MISSION
The Mission of the Corporation is to cover 5 million women entrepreneurs under financial inclusion and various other programs of our Corporation and make their family life healthy, peaceful and prosperous.
WEC follows transparent process in its operation. Our detail standard of operation process is as under:
The methodology involves lending to individual women utilizing five member groups where groups serve as the ultimate guarantor for each member. It provides all financial and non financial services at the doorstep to women lead every woman towards empowerment with inclusive growth and small Weekly/Monthly repayment facilitate their cash flow management. we have seen remarkable results among women and the level of confidence which made them strong women entrepreneurs as well as social leaders. They feel strong, confident to get the work done through their SakhiMandal(SHG) and SakhiSangh (Area Level Federation of SHG). On 23rd March, 2018, Khodiyar Nagar, Behrampura Ward SakhiSangh of Ahmedabad received SWACCHATA EXCELLENCE AWARD from NULM, New Delhi. Our visualization for SAKHI HAAT is now actualized with brand and many entrepreneurs have been joining as part of movement. UCD of AMC has recognized us and did MoU with us for City Livelihoods Centers (CLC). Honorable Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani launched our “AAJIVEEKA” mobile application both for service providers and service seekers.
WEC conducts a Projection Meeting with the entire areas to introduce WEC, its vision- mission, vicious circle of poverty, WEC methodology, Women empowerment, and various subjects. After the projection meeting, WEC conducts a series of Small Projection Meeting to further explain WEC and appeal directly to those women who would like to join with us and come out from poverty barriers.
After selection of areas and projection meeting, interested women form a group of self selected 05 women who are likeminded, same or different occupation; ages from 18 to 59, not family related but very close and peer to one another and also to serve as guarantors for one another.
CGT is 5 days program consisting of hour-long sessions designed to educate woman on the processes and procedures of corporation and build a culture and discipline of financial literacy & credit counselling (FLCC). During the training period, WEC staff also collects quantitative basic data of each woman to make sure that they qualify for the program and record base-line information for future analysis. On the 5th day, senior officers conduct Group Recognition Test (GRT) and are officially declared as Women Entrepreneur (Upasika) of the corporation after successfully completing test.
After completion of CGT, other groups start forming a Sakhi-mandal (Women Empowerment Centre) and merges into 2 to 4 groups or 10 to 20 Upasika members. They select leader, deputy leader and treasurer to facilitate meetings and ensure compliance with procedures. Sakhimandal is responsible for the repayment of all groups (Vrunds), creating a joint liability system.
5a. Financial Transactions
Corporation Field staff conducts all financial transaction during the meeting. SakhiMandal meetings are conducted with rigid discipline in order to sustain an environment of Financial. They collect saving or beneficiary contribution every week regularly and create the habit of credit discipline and their creditworthiness.
5b. Social, Legal, Political and Spiritual Empowerment
SakhiSangh is the federation of SakhiMandal, working at ward level with the involvement of civil society and their participation to empower the grass root level women for their rights. Each SakhiSangh has President, Vice President and Members which carry out various developmental activities in each ward of the city through various committees. Each committee has Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members who are responsible for specific activities. The member of each committee visits Urban Local Body, Government financial institutions, Banks, Collector office etc to solve their problems with the close coordination and supervision of WEC. Women Empowerment Corporation also works at city level through City Level Federation (CLF) and district level through District Level Federation (DLF) to empower the community as whole in economical, social, legal, political and spiritual field.
GeM is a ‘Government-e-Marketplace (GeM)’ to facilitates online procurement of common use Goods & Services required by various Government Departments, Organizations and PSUs. GeM aims to minimizing prices while maximizing ease, transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users, achieve the best value for their money.
‘GNAN – Garibi Nirmulan Andolan Network’ is the key vision of the corporation, i.e. “Inclusive Growth through Women Empowerment” is motto of WEC.
Hence, Digitalization is need of today. We are empanelled with Samsung and Airtel Payments Bank to meet the demand of Goods & Services.
We are, also, registered with Gem to enhance capacity and opportunity of SHG Members. It provides market across the nation. GeM is one of the keys to earn right livelihood and become rightly empowered with economic status, which can lead the people for better and healthy life.
